As an artist of light, “Nino” (Anthony) enters into the space of the empty black canvas, moves into and merges with the ever present void, and ultimately brings forth an exquisite display of illumination—portraying the pure essence of all that is. To capture the cresting of each expression, he must transcend the normal photographic methods and move into deep meditative states to evoke and isolate the essential message to be portrayed. He applies his photographic technical knowledge to translate this non-tangible information into an abstract light form and physically record the experience onto the photographic canvas.

A common theme found throughout Nino’s artwork is “Energy.” Nino calls himself a photographer of the ephemeron. Within this artistic process, Nino melds photography, marital arts, and science to create a unique synergy of energy, form, and emotion. His training in harmonizing his body and mind affords him the ability to operate from within a holistic environment while creating his exquisite works of art. His ability to suspend in a meditative yet focused state, allows him to merge with the subject and draw out the primal essence of that moment and the prevailing mood to be found – documenting it forever.

For his fine art work Nino works under his true name – Anthony DiSalvo.
